Peter Carlson
Chief Financial Officer
Peter Carlson is the Chief Financial Officer at Staff Boom, where he directs the company’s financial strategy and long-term fiscal health. A seasoned executive with a deep background in IT-enabled services, Peter specializes in scaling organizations through rigorous financial planning, strategic M&A, and operational excellence.
Before joining Staff Boom, Peter served as CFO at DMI, where he was instrumental in securing a landmark investment from OceanSound Partners in 2021. His tenure was defined by high-velocity growth—supporting seven acquisitions, spearheading the divestiture of 14 global legal entities, and leading multiple large-scale systems transformations. Above all, Peter takes pride in building a finance function that acts as a true business partner to leadership, moving beyond the balance sheet to actively drive profitable growth.
Peter’s career also includes 14 years at DXC (formerly CSC), where he navigated complex financial landscapes for both Federal and Commercial clients. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Computer Science from Lafayette College and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
Known for his empowering leadership style and “continuous improvement” mindset, Peter brings a collaborative, approachable energy to the executive team. He believes that the strongest financial strategies are built on a foundation of teamwork and a positive attitude.
Outside of the office, Peter Carlson is an avid sports fan and snowboarder. However, his greatest joy is his family; he cherishes every moment spent with his wife and two daughters.
