Leonard Beckford
Vice President of Finance – Controller
Leonard Beckford is a finance and accounting leader with over 20 years of experience partnering with executive teams to build and scale high-performing financial operations. Throughout his career, he has led global accounting organizations in the technology and telecommunications sectors, overseeing core functions including financial reporting, general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, tax, and treasury.
Most recently, Leonard served as VP, Controller at Clarabridge, where he played a key role in scaling the company from a high-growth startup through its acquisition by Qualtrics. In that role, he led global ERP implementations, managed multi-entity and multi-currency operations, supported international expansion across Latin America and Europe, and worked closely with executive leadership and audit committees to deliver financial insights and maintain strong governance.
Earlier in his career, Leonard held leadership roles at BroadSoft and BT Americas, where he managed large, distributed accounting teams, supported IPO readiness and public company reporting, and helped design and implement scalable processes in complex multinational environments. He began his career in public accounting with Grant Thornton, serving clients across a range of industries.
Leonard Beckford holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland. He is particularly passionate about building efficient, scalable finance organizations and using technology to improve decision-making and operations.
Originally from Panama, Leonard has spent more than 30 years in the Washington, D.C., metro area. He currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia, with his wife and their two children. His son is a sophomore and a star on his high school football team, and his daughter is a freshman in college. Outside of work, Leonard enjoys playing golf and spending time on the water. He is also a dedicated fan of D.C. area sports teams, especially the Commanders and the Terrapins.
