Before joining Staff Boom, Katelin Skillings built a career spanning over 20 years in the insurance industry, with experience across Operations, Underwriting, Sales, and Client Service. Her experience with shared services models has helped organizations improve efficiency, scalability, and client outcomes. Throughout her career, she has also developed a strong background in building relationships, managing teams, and driving business strategies. Today, she brings this diverse experience to her role as Vice President of Strategic Programs at Staff Boom.
We reached out to Katelin’s supervisor for feedback on her performance, and the positive response was universally shared across the organization. Angela Valencia, Vice President of Process Excellence, had this to say:

To get to know more about Katelin, we asked her some questions about herself and her time in the outsourcing industry world:
Q: What do you think makes you unique as a team member?
Katelin Skillings: I think what makes me unique as a team member is my ability to take on complex challenges and turn them into practical, scalable solutions. I enjoy finding ways to bring people, processes, and technology together and make sure everyone is working toward the same goal.
Q: Where do you think you can have the biggest impact on your role?
Katelin Skillings: My biggest impact comes from designing and improving operational frameworks that make things more efficient, consistent, and scalable while driving measurable results for the business.
Q: What is the best thing that has happened to you this year?
Katelin Skillings: My husband and I moved outside the city last summer, and it has made such a positive difference in our lives. We’ve been able to spend more time outdoors with our kids, enjoy more family time, and really appreciate the open space and Big Sky Country around us.
Q: What techniques help you stay organized and productive?
Katelin Skillings: I rely on prioritization, clear documentation, defined ownership, and milestone tracking to stay organized and keep projects moving forward. Having those things in place also helps keep everyone aligned along the way.
Q: What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far?
Katelin Skillings: Being part of the team building Shared Services programs has been one of my most meaningful accomplishments so far. It’s rewarding to contribute to something that helps improve client outcomes, increase operational efficiency, and support the organization’s growth.
Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Katelin Skillings: I would love to visit Greece to experience the culture, enjoy the food, and spend time exploring the beautiful beaches.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Katelin Skillings: Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through yoga, spending time with my family, and enjoying the outdoors. I also love cooking, and recently, I’ve taken up fly fishing and bird hunting, which have been fun new hobbies to explore.
